Why do you need documents after I pay?

As a registered number plate supplier we are required to verify your identity and confirm you are entitled to use the registration before we manufacture road-legal plates. You'll get a secure upload link straight after payment.

What proof of name and address is accepted?

Accepted Answer

One document showing your name and address: a driving licence, a utility bill, Council Tax bill or rates bill dated within the last 6 months, a bank or building society statement dated within the last 6 months, or a national identity card showing the required details. A passport on its own is not sufficient, because it does not show your address.

What proof of entitlement to the registration is accepted?

A document showing you're entitled to use the registration — for example a V5C or V5CNI registration certificate, the green new keeper slip, a V750/V750NI certificate of entitlement, a V778 retention document, a V11 or V11NI reminder, a V379 or V379NI temporary registration certificate, a V948 (or eV948 / eV948/2) number plate authorisation certificate, a qualifying fleet, lease or hire company letter quoting the V5C document reference number, a DVLA View Vehicle Record PDF where the V5C on-demand scheme applies, or a UK Trailer Registration Certificate (VTRC). How do I send my documents?

Most customers upload them using the secure link provided after checkout. Depending on the document type you may also be able to email an acceptable electronic or PDF document, send documents for inspection, or show the originals in person on collection. Some documents must be seen in their original form — if what you send isn't sufficient we'll contact you and explain what we need before manufacturing.

What happens after I upload?

Uploads may go through an automated pre-check, but a member of our team makes the final verification decision. If a document is unclear, incomplete, unsuitable or doesn't match the registration ordered, we'll ask for another one. Your order is held while verification is completed — it isn't automatically cancelled.

I've ordered more than one registration — do I need documents for each?

Yes. We need suitable proof of entitlement for each individual registration; entitlement documents for one registration can't be used for another in the same order.

How long does production take?

Plates are made once your documents are approved. Most approved orders are manufactured and dispatched within one to two working days.

Are your plates road legal?

Accepted Answer

Every style is available in a road-legal specification made to BS AU 145e. Show-only variations are clearly labelled at the point of order.

Can I order a front and rear pair?

Accepted Answer

Yes — choose Front, Rear or a Front & Rear pair in the builder. Fronts are white reflective, rears are yellow reflective.

What is a 4D number plate?

Accepted Answer

4D plates use laser-cut 3mm acrylic characters bonded to the plate face, giving a sharp raised edge and strong shadow definition.

Are 4D plates road legal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when made to the correct BS AU 145e specification with the required font, spacing and reflective backing — which is how we supply them by default.

What's the difference between 4D and 4D Bevelled?

Accepted Answer

Bevelled characters are chamfered on the edges so they catch light, giving a more premium, jewelled appearance.

Will 4D characters come off in a car wash?

Accepted Answer

No. Characters are bonded with automotive-grade adhesive designed for pressure washing and UK weather.

What is a 3D gel plate?

Accepted Answer

Each character is printed then domed with a clear polyurethane resin, creating a glossy raised finish with soft depth.

Is 3D gel road legal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when supplied to BS AU 145e specification with correct font and spacing.

3D gel or 4D — which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

3D gel is softer and glossier with rounded depth; 4D is sharper and more architectural. Both look excellent — use the comparison section to decide.

How durable is the gel dome?

Accepted Answer

The resin is UV stable and flexible, so it resists yellowing, cracking and stone chips.

Can I replace just one plate?

Yes — choose Front only or Rear only in the builder.

My plate is cracked or faded, do I still need documents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Replacement road-legal plates still require identity and entitlement verification.
